About Northern Tax and Financial

Theresa and Raymond Gauthier are the owners and operators of Northern Tax and Financial.

After several years of working in the financial industry, 6 of which included working as a manager then a district manager for a major tax firm, Theresa resigned from her position. She decided it was time to take her many years of training and experience to a new level.

She Became an Entrepreneur

In 1996, she opened Northern Tax services. Since that time, she has continued her professional development through annual tax, accounting and financial planning courses and seminars.
In 1997, Raymond Gauthier left his career in sales and partnered with Theresa.
Since then, he has continued his professional development through tax courses and seminars.
In the fall of 2010, the company’s name changed to Northern Tax and Financial.
In July of 2015, the company opened a branch office in Kingston, Ontario.
Our services include accounting, income tax and consultations.
We also offer income tax courses and small business start-up training and support.

Our Team

Our seasonal staff is comprised of new and senior staff. Each year in the fall, Theresa Gauthier trains new staff through our income tax courses. Then prior to tax season, all staff attend an annual tax update. Annual participation in continuing professional education courses keeps our team on the leading edge of ever changing tax laws and accounting methods. Even our receptionists undergo classroom training and on-the-job training before they begin working at our firm.
